Threats of Artificial Intelligence (TAI) Scale — Materials and Use

Thank you for your interest in our research. This page provides the measurement materials for the Threats of Artificial Intelligence (TAI) scale and answers the two questions I am most frequently asked about it.

Permission to use the scale

The TAI scale is published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and you are welcome to use, adapt, and translate it in your own research. Because the article is licensed under CC BY 4.0, no separate permission from me is required; the license only requires that you give appropriate credit by citing the original paper (see below).

Materials

You can download the scale below. The file contains the introduction text and items for the use case “medical treatment." Please note that the scale was validated in German; the translated English version has not been separately validated. The wording for the other two use cases (recruitment and loan origination) can be reconstructed from the same file in combination with the paper. The original scoring is described in the paper.
